I wanted you to know about some great silent auction items that will be ready for your bids at the banquet. Bring cash or checks, be the winning bidder and go home with some great items…
Huntington Learning Center has donated two great baskets, one for those preparing for college and one for those just beginning their educational journey. The centerpiece item of the “College Bound” basket is a gift certificate valued at $500 to be put towards ACT/SAT 1:1 tutoring. WOW! What a great opportunity to give your child the best preparation available today for taking that all important college entrance exam. So much depends upon these tests today, from getting into the school of your choice to obtaining scholarships. For our youngest swimmers, Huntington has donated a certificate to attend a two week summer kindergarten camp. When I graduated kindergarten, I just had to prove I could tie my shoes. Our children today are expected to know a lot more and by the end of kindergarten, if not the beginning, they are expected to be able to read simple words and phrases. Get them off to a great start and put them in a position to love school from the day they walk through the door by giving them a fun introduction to learning at this summer camp.
As advertised in my earlier email, we will also have a Briggs and Stratton Elite Series 1000 volt generator for the taking. If you were not lucky enough to have the right lottery number at Home Depot over the big snow weekend, this is your chance to snag a generator valued at about $600 to $700. Who hasn’t been out of power recently? The generator is also great for camping in luxury (if luxury in camping is even possible).
I also wanted to tell you about our Polish Stoneware Pitcher and Tumblers valued at about $300. If you were not aware, this beautiful pottery is hand painted and of limited production. After so many pieces have been produced the molds are broken and once the sea sponges used for the painting are worn, they too are tossed. As a result, each piece is truly a unique work of art. Yet, it is more than just a pretty decoration; they are very functional. If you know anything about this pottery, you will recognize this set as quality stoneware worth every penny. It is the kind of purchase that can become a family heirloom.
You can look like a movie star if you are the winning bidder for our Custom Vera Wang Sunglasses, valued over $200.
There is a basket for every age and gender, from anti-aging skin products to a basket loaded with junk food, one with wine and another to dine, Bakugan and paintball, golf packages and Pirates tickets. I personally am hoping to walk away with the anti-aging, Vera Wang and Polish Stoneware. Of course, I really like the Baking 101 basket and would love to shoot my husband (with a paintball) - so many baskets, so many opportunities but you gotta play to win!
So come with some extra cash or a check and maybe you’ll just get to take home some great products all the while supporting the Club. We will sell the Chinese Auction tickets at 10 for $10 or 25 for $20. You control the amount of your bid for silent auction items.
See you Sunday at the Banquet!
